TOPFA booklet

On Sep 1st 2026, the HSE in conjunction with the Pregnancy Loss Research Group launched the Termination of pregnancy for Foetal Anomaly (TOPFA) booklet. LMC also had some input in the booklet. You hopefully received this booklet in your foetal medicine unit when your baby was diagnosed. It explains the legislation and all treatment options available, including travel abroad. This booklet is an essential resource for families who are being overwhelmed with information, sometimes written on scraps of paper up until now. It also enables families to make the most informed choice for their baby, their family, their religious and cultural beliefs.
